Para mas maunawaan pa natin kung paano talaga gumagana ang network, let’s take a look sa mga components na bumubuo dito. As I shared in the beginning, a network is a like a system(or at least two devices) na binubuo ng iba’t ibang components.
End points/end devices
Ang mga end points or end devices ang components ng network na ginagamit ng mga end users. Ito yung mga actual devices like laptops, desktops, smart phones, tablets, ip phones, printers, servers, ip camera and more.
It’s mostly connected sa ating mga network switches(or access points) para maka maging part ng ating network.
Media/Interconnections
When it comes to media or interconnections naman, dito pumapasok yung mga cables, wires, wireless or anything that connects our “end devices” to our network devices.
For example, a copper cable connecting a desktop computer to our network switch. Or a coaxial cable connecting our ip camera to our network switch.
Or di kaya naman, a wireless interface card connecting our smart phones, tablets and laptops to our access point(which is also connected to our network switch via network cable). Or connecting our switch to the router.
Kumbaga, they “bridge” or connect the devices in our network para maka-connect at maging part ng ating network.
Network devices
Ang mga network devices naman, gaya ng switch at routers natin ang tumutulong upang “magkita-kita” at “magka-usap usap” ang ating mga end devices pati na rin ang mga network devices within our network.
Ang mga network devices ang may kakayanan to help us “communicate” or “deliver/transfer” transfer the data back and forth sa ating network.
For example, the switch knows where to deliver the “frames” using the mac-address of the device. The router knows how to get to a certain device(or destination) using ip addresses. We will talk about more about these devices later.
Ang mga components na ito ang bumubuo sa ating network. They are all part of the whole network and each of them has their own functions.
Ngayong alam na natin ang mga components na bumubuo sa network, let’s dig deeper on what are the common network devices na karaniwang ginagamit sa ating network.
